Abstract : Seedlessness is a major criteria for the Citrus fresh fruit market. So triploidy breeding appears very promising for the selection of new citrus cultivars. In addition of spontaneous triploid selection and sexual hybridization between diploid and allotetraploid hybrids, CIRAD has developped a new method for triploid synthesis by somatic hybridization between diploid and haploid lines. This method enables to add without recombination, an haploid genome to the whole diploid genome of high organoleptic quality cultivars
