Abstract : It is then interesting to evaluate what would have been the impact of alternative policy measures on economic results in the agricultural sector. One way to simulate the effect of différent alternatives is to build up a model representing the behavior of the actors concerned within the sector. The resuits will indicate possible evolution trends in production and consumption following the measures. It is aise, féasible to introduce environmental consideration to evaluate future impacts. The model is also useful to understand reality and the way production systems work and relate to each other. A model of the Burkinable agricultural sector is proposed to help understanding this situation and the evaluation of alternative measures to the ones taken after the devaluation. The presentation is organized as follows : first; further analysis on the situation after the evaluation in Burkina Faso is summarized, second; the model is presented very briefly, third; the results are presented and discussed and finally, a conclusion is drawn.
