Résumé : This chapter provides a summary of DBM-related research carried out within the Oceania region. It should be noted that some of the work described has so far only appeared in reports to funding agencies and as such should be considered preliminary. Apart from some historical data, the account has been restricted to research initiated since the mid 1990s, by which time the incidence of insecticide resistance had forced growers to reconsider their control options. Whilst it's primary focus is on biological control (natural enemies, pathogens and cultural techniques), strategies to reduce insecticide use, to select appropriate insecticides and to manage resistance are also included because they can have such a profound effect on the agents of biological control.
