Résumé : Frutic05 is the 7th edition of Fruit, Nut and Vegetable Production Engineering Symposium. The fruit and vegetable production segment has undergone major structural changes due to consumer new expectations. The demand for high-quality and safe products, as well as for environmentally sound production techniques has led to three challenges: 1 - High-quality products : In order to increase the product quality, agricultural production must reconcile large-scale production and accurate management. Improved fruit storage and transportation conditions are also urgently needed. 2 - Environmental friendly production : Since fruits and vegetables portray an image of health, reducing inputs as much as possible is more than welcome, both at the primary production level (pesticide, mineral fertilizers...) and at the post-harvest stage. 3 - Restoring consumers¿ confidence : Consumer confidence in food has been largely spoiled last years. Both consumers and intermediate users (food industry) require secured information chain (traceability, e-trading...) and authentic products. These challenges will be addressed by applying advances in technology and information areas to the agricultural world, in order to make it sustainable. This CD contains the papers of all the oral presentations and posters of the symposium.
