Abstract : This conference, organized by CIRAD, CIFOR and ECOFOR, under the aegis of IUFRO, was held in Montpellier from 15 to 18 November 2011. It took place in the context of the international year of forests and was attended by over 170 researchers and students. Seventy-two talks were given. Following the conference, the organizers were keen to publish this overview highlighting the main topics discussed. (Résumé d'auteur)
