Titre espagnol : Resistencia sistémica inducida (RSI) para controlar Rotylenchulus reniformis in piña

Quartile : Q4, Sujet : ZOOLOGY

Résumé : Pineapple infestations by the reniform nematode Rotylenchulus reniformis cannot be managed anymore in the French West lndies. The new European regulations forbid the use of nematicides therefore we looke.d for a possible !SR contribution to nematode biocontrol in pineapple. In gre.enhouse trials, methyljasmonate (10-4M) or water (control) treatrnents were applied over the root system of pineapple plante.d either in IL single pot or in twin-pots (split-root system). In the single pot trial, a monospecific inoculation of 5,000 juveniles of R. reniformis has been made and population increase and the fecundity were monitore.d after 2 months. In the second experirnent 25,000 juveniles were inoculate.d in one side of the twin-pots. On the other side, enzymatic indicators of stress (LOX, SOD, PAL, and CHI) were measure.d at 0, 1, 4, 10, and 14 hours after tre.atments on non-inoculated plants. The !SR ' priming' effect was me.asured with the same indicators 10 d.ays after the inoculation of treated plants. In the first trial, the fecundity was strongly reduced by the methyljasmonate (50 to 70%,p=0.003). In the split-root trial, the .data support the evidence of an !SR set up by the plants as we observed a systemic and transient stress response of the plant to the methyljasmonate. We also observed a 'priming· effect on the plant defense against the nematodes characterized by a significant increase of the enzymatic indicators. These results support the idea of a possible !SR contribution to a R. reniformis biocontrol. (Texte intégral)
