Abstract : The extraordinary urban growth that characterises the whole ofAfrica is accompanied by the progressive emergence ofmegacities and by the reorganisation ofurban networks. This urbanisation is nevertheless affected by the weakness ofthe lowerand intermediate levels, which hampers the diversification oflocal economies. This is the challenge for territorial development..
