Résumé : The Centre National de recherche Agronomique (CNRA), Côte d'Ivoire hosts the international Genebank for Africa and the India Ocean. The Genebank was established from 1960 to 1980 and contains 99 coconuts accessions. Most of these accessions become more and more old (more than 25 years) and high (more than 12 m) to be used for research and development activities. This work summarizes the regeneration programme started since 1986. The seednuts used to regenerate the accessions were produced by using controlled pollination technique. These seednuts were prepared in nursery and planted in the fields. For each accession 25 to 50 male palms and 70 to 100 female palms were utilized as parent palms. In the fields 150 palms are planted per accession from 200 to 450 seednuts produced. Because of this program, young palms of some accessions are flowering and allow Côte d'Ivoire to supply easly pollen, seednuts, embryos and seedlings to his partners in the world (Asia, Africa, Pacific and Latin America).
