Résumé : This study aimed to estimate body weight of two humped Bactrian camels from South Kazakhstan. In addition, the hump weight was estimated. Four Bactrian camels were monitored and their body and hump weights regularly estimated during 6 months. For estimation barymetric measurements were used. The measurements were achieved in corridor on standing animals with a meter-ribbon and reported in cm. Body weight of experimental camels was estimated by four different models and results were compared. For hump the volume of the hump was assessed, then its weight by considering the fat density of the hump. The comparison of the different models showed that the model of Faye (2014) was closer to the true body weight of animals measured on scale. The body length was better predictor of the body weight of Bactrian camel and the heart girth the best predictor for the body condition score. According to this estimation model, the body weight of experimental camels ranged between 513 and 680 kg over the 6 months. The mean weight of animals was 601 kg, but huge individual variations were noted. The hump weights varied widely and ranged between 5.3 kg and 21.5 kg.
