Résumé : Thailand is the 1st world producer of natural rubber (NR) which is produced from the latex exuding from Hevea brasiliensis tree in the form of rubber particles suspended in serum. Latex tapped from Hevea brasiliensis (rubber tree) contains rubber particles dispersed in C-serum. Two major proteins are abundant at the surface of Hevea rubber particles namely, the HbREF and the HbSRPP, which are mainly located at the surface of large rubber particles and small rubber particles, respectively. Lipids extracted from rubber particles include phospholipids (PL), glycolipids (GL) and neutral lipids (NL) [1]. We used Brewster angle microscopy and PM-IRRAS to investigate the interactions between recombinant HbREF and HbSRPP with native lipids extracted and purified from Hevea RRIM600 latex [2] collected in the Chanthaburi province, Thailand. Native lipids from Hevea latex (clone RRIM600) were extracted and separated into three independent pure classes of lipids, including phospholipids, glycolipids and neutral lipids. Neutral lipids are the major lipids found in the extractable lipids from latex (45% w/w), followed by PL (32% w/w) and GL (23% w/w). [3] Phospholipids are mainly zwitterionic with high content of PC and PE. Monolayers of native phospholipids, glycolipids and neutral lipids were successfully formed at the air-water interface.
