Résumé : The phytosanitary condition of the PRESCO and GOPDC estates is satisfactory. Blast has had little effect in the Obaretin nursery and bud rot has been insignificant. The plants reveal limited development and are heterogeneous and very pale green in places. Application of nitrogen fertilizer as a solution in water is partly responsible for this situation. At Cowan, the plants are very healthy, but much less well developed than at Obaretin (due to shading from the old palm plantings). There are large Rhynchophorus populations in the old stems, but they are not dangerous provided the young palms are not wounded. Oryctes population levels are still very low, but are likely to increase considerably from one year to the next, all the more so since cover crop development is poor and the old stems are not very well covered. At GOPDC, Coelaenomenodéra populations are low on average, apart from a few foci in the nucleus estate, which should be closely monitored. The smallholder and outgrower plantations are very healthy. There are still quite a lot of broken young fronds, in both the nucleus estate and in the smallholdings, but they are mostly limited to much less well developed palms, which are consequently unproductive, or substantially less productive.
