Résumé : Based on research conducted at ClRAD-Réunion over the last twenty years on biological and integrated control of citrus pests, the Extension Service and Entomology Laboratory of CIRAD-FLHOR Réunion, in collaboration with the SUAD-Chamber of Agriculture Réunion, set up trials in 1989 at pilot-orchards and stations, in order to develop the use of IPM for this crop. These experiments allow us today to propose to citrus growers in the island reliable monitoring methods, intervention thresholds and recommandations for selecting active ingredients compatible with IPM. This work shows that IPM results in a better quality of production, for a slightly increased cost compared with classical chemical control. Furthermore, the selection of active Ingredients and reduction in number of sprays, also reduce the negative impact of control methods on beneficials and the environment.
