Résumé : Crops losses following pest attacks 'are often very important in cotton. After a brief review of various key pests in different ecosystems, some factors limiting pest incidence are considered: natural factors regulating pest populations, farmers practices regarding cultural control and pesticides use, varietal resistance of tolerance to pests and the rational of chemical use. Phytosanitary legislation is briefly cited, before a conclusion devoted to training of different actors involved in cotton pest control.
