Résumé : Les performances de 3 hybrides de cocotiers Nains testés sur la Station Marc-Delorme, dans le cadre du programme d'amélioration génétique, conduisent à porter un intérêt particulier à ce type de matériel. Précocité, faible encombrement autorisant la plantation à des densités élevées, grands nombres de régimes et de noix/arbre, faible croissance en hauteur, et homogénéité des populations se conjuguent à l'effet d'hétérosis pour le coprah/noix et probablement la rusticité pour donner des combinaisons dont la production à l'hectare est environ 35 p.100 supérieure à celle du Nain Jaune de Malaisie. La plantation ou le test d'hybrides comme le Nain Jaune Malais x Nain Rouge Malais ou le Nain Jaune Malais x Nain Vert de Guinée Equatoriale peut être avantageusement envisagée dans les régions affectées par les maladies de type jaunissement mortel, voire dans celles à écologie favorable à la culture

Résumé (autre langue) : The performance of 3 dwarf coconut hybrids tested at the Marc Delorme Station under a genetic improvement programme led to particular interest being shown in this type of material. Precocity, low bulk enabling high density planting, large numbers of bunches and nuts/tree, low vertical growth and popula1ion homogeneity all join with the heterosis effect for copra/nut and probably hardiness to give combinations whose production per hectare is approximately 35 p. 100 higher than that of the Malayan Yellow Dwarf. The planting or testing of hybrids such as the Malayan Yellow Dwarf x Malayan Red Dwarf or the Malayan Yellow Dwarf X Equatorial Guinea Green Dwarf can be favourably considered in regions affected by Lethal Yellowing type diseases, or in those regions with an ecology suited to their cultivation.
