Résumé : An experiment based on farmer field was conducted at Nam Hong village, Dong Anh district in early hot wet season from March to June, 2000. The objectives were to 1. To assess the potentialities of choisurn in peri-urban of Hanoi; 2. to identify the constraints to the development of this crop; and 3. to know and understand the farmer practices. The activities of recording all farmer practices, getting general production information, and analyzing product were done during and after crop season. The results show that there is high opportunities for production of choisurn in this season such as land, available input, water resource as well as good practice experiences of farmers, and reasonable guidances of leaders. Cultivated practices of farmers including varieties, fertilizer, pesticide application were very complicated. Then the obtained yield were dIfferent, ranged from 0-20 ton/ha. Among of which, 33% of total field could not get the yield because of some reasons. There are constraints needed to be solved such as pest, disease and weed attacked. The unstable market, low price of product lead farmers are not so interested in production in this season.
