Résumé : The CBD Resist Project (INCO DEV, 2001-2005) aims at developing a strategy for the durable management of the resistance to coffee berry disease (CBD). As a country affected by this disease, and because of its expertise in this domain Cameroon has been asked to take part in this project especially regarding the field and lab assessment of resistant C. arabica entries, and the study of the epidemics both in the time and in the space. At the start of the project the purpose of this mission was for the co-ordinator to check with IRAD the collections, the trials, the facilities, and the personnel in place in order to devise the best way to make them operational as soon as possible for the purpose of the project. Visits were made to Foumbot and Santa stations. Cleaning and regenerating the fields is urgent as the dry season is starting, especially in Santa where most CBD assessments are to be made. A precise census of all trees alive is recommended. Some of the sites for epidemiology studies were visited. Various cultural systems were observed in that region, they would have to be taken into account. Modifications to the laboratory, ways of running the project, including personnel matters, and the schedule for screening tests were discussed.
