Résumé : Whereas Part I describes the effects of stickiness on productivity, Part II is devoted to an assessment of its impact on quality. Samples of sliver, roving, and yam taken during the spinning process are examined to determine the effects of stickiness on product quality from the card to the spinning frames. The first effects of stickiness on regularity are noted at the roving frame. Sliver regularity (of the card and drawing frame) does not appear to be affected by stickiness. The quality of ring spun yam is more sensitive to stickiness than rotor spun yam. This difference involves several important criteria, notably unevenness and imperfections.
