In : 2nd RCM on Development of improved attractants and their integration into fruit fly SIT management programmes, Stellenbosch, South Africa, 29 April to 3 May 2002
Résumé : The Melon fly Bactrocera cucurbitae, the Tomato fruit fly Neoceratitis cyanescens, and the Natal fruit fly, Ceratitis rosa are major pests in Reunion island, on cucurbits, Solanaceae and fruit crops, respectively. Following the conclusions of the First Co-ordinated Meeting of the FAO/IAEA TCP on "Development of improved attractants and their integration into fruit fly SIT management programmes", held in Sao Paulo, Brazil (August 28 - September 1, 2000), the purpose of our work during this first phase of the programme was to study the relative attractiveness of various trapping systems on both sexes of each of the 3 species, in order to develop or improve monitoring (Tomato fruit fly) or control methods (Melon fly and Natal fruit fly) for these species.
