Résumé : At present, the main unfavorable factors of intensification of rice production in Uzbekistan are irrigation water deficit, elimination of rice ¿ alfalfa crop rotation, deterioration of amelioration and soil fertility, and also financial and economic state of farms. Because of transition to marketing relations, cost increase of agricultural machinery and fuel, demands to breeding very strict. If in 1970-1980 the main direction in rice breeding was the release of intensive varieties, forming high grain yield at high agricultural background, at present it is necessary to release the varieties, giving the analogous result under more severe conditions of production. New varieties should be profitable. These varieties are as fallows: Mustakillik, Naabakhor, Sitora, Akhmad-Sholi. In 1998, 1999 they were sent for state varietals tests. At the process of rice breeding the exchange of breeding stock of France, China, Korea and Russia, mutual researches take place.
