Palu Serge. 2002. Training of laboratory managers from national quality control centres from 9 to 20 September 2002 : Quality improvement and quality control of African natural rubber, CFC grant n°28. Montpellier : CIRAD-CP, 57 p. N° de rapport : CP_SIC 1543
Résumé : Two years after installation of the laboratory equipment acquired under the ANRA, then UNOPS/CFC, project, problems with equipment maintenance and normal operation were reported by all the central laboratories, primarily with the ODR 2000 supplied by Alpha Technologies, two extensometers from MTS Systems and several Wallace plastimeters. During the joint IRSG/CFC appraisal mission in December 2001, and the mission by CFC/UNOPS in April 2002, it appeared that a short period of training would be advisable for the continuation of laboratory activities and normal operation of the equipment funded under the project. The condition laid down was that only the laboratory managers involved in the project for several years, and continuing to work for the central laboratories, could receive the training. The Coordinator of the CFC/UNOPS project asked CIRAD to organize training in Europe for the central laboratory managers, covering the following activities: - equipment maintenance training with NITS Systems and Techno-Loire in France, Wallace Instruments and Alpha Technologies in the UK, - a workshop at CIRAD in Montpellier, to take stock of the project by country, and on the inter- laboratory and variability tests. This report summarizes CIRAD-CP's involvement in organizing the training and accompanying the trainees in Europe.
