Résumé : The rubber plantations cover 0.63 million hectares in China with an annual natural rubber production of 0.49 million ton in 1999. The rubber plantations will be reduced in China at the 21st century but the annual rubber production is expected to increase to 0.75 million ton by the year 2030. The natural rubber consumption will show a continued growth at the early 21st century and is predicted to come up to 1.30 million ton by the year 2010. The rubber plantation industry is now being restructured in China to maintain an increasing growth of natural rubber production.
