Résumé : The European Union and the United States are the world's leading consumer markets for banana. The 4 million tonnes sold in the EU in 2002 represent about a third of the total volume of bananas traded world-wide. However, thanks to its special supply system, the EU is undoubtedly the most profitable market in the world.
