2004. Whiteflies of coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) in Comoro and Mascaraigne.
In : 2nd European Whitefly Symposium [EWSII], 5 - 9 October 2004, Cavtat, Croatia
Résumé : Aleurotrachelus atratus Hempel, 1922 was identified in 2002 as a major pest of Coconut in the Comoro islands. It is associated with Paraleyrodes bondari Peracchi, 1971, both introduced, originally from South America. In order to find some predators and parasitoids of these whiteflies, searches were conducted on several other islands in the Indian Ocean: Mayotte, Reunion and Mauritius. Four whitefly species were recorded on coconut: A. atratus, P. bondari, Stenaleyrodes papillote Martin & Streito, 2003 and Stenaleyrodes vinsoni Takahashi, 1938. For each species, their description, records from Comoro and Mascaraigne archipelago and associated damages are reviewed. (Texte intégral)
