Résumé : Oil palm mineral nutrition is influenced by many factors. It is linked to mineral nutrient stores in the soil, mineral nutrients released by the crop, fertilisation policy, and climatic influences, etc. Leaf analyses have been carried out on individual progenies in numerous genetic or clonal trials planted at P.T. SOCFINDO. The results show differences in leaf mineral contents between planting material types, such as the main categories - Deli x La Mé, Deli x Yangambi, Deli Soc. x Avros, etc. Differences also exist within these categories, for example between DA115D x LM2T and (DA5D x DA3D) x LM2T hybrid types. Significant differences have been found between genotypes from the same hybrid. The reaction of some genotypes to a similar fertilization policy has been studied in a subdivided 33 (N, P, K + Mg) trial. It has also been examined in a nursery trial of (DA5D x DA3D) x LM2T progenies with contrasting leaf contents. A field trial has been conducted to check whether leaf content differences are linked to a variation in some critical nutrient levels. The possible consequences of these findings for fertilisation policy are discussed.
