Résumé : The mission was undertaken in Indonesia from 30 May to 7 June 2006, under a contract between PT IndoCafco and ICCRI to validate the Brocap® trap (coffee berry borer control), for which CIRAD is the consultant. The aim was to mark out the coffee plots for a trapping operation to take place from June to October, and to organize observations. The trial comprises 4 plots with 16 traps and 4 plots without traps (controls). Infestation is to be assessed in June 2006 on residual fruits, captures are to be recorded during the trapping period (June to October) and attack rates on the new crop are to be observed in December 2006 and in April 2007, and on samples of the harvest in May 2007. Inspection reports will be sent regularly to CIRAD. The results will be analysed and interpreted jointly with CIRAD, for whom the new contact is Dr Christian Cilas: christian.cilas@cirad.fr. To facilitate discussions and the drafting of the final report, it is proposed that Mr S. Wiryadiputra be invited to CIRAD in Montpellier, for one month, in June 2007, under a DESI grant. Pt IndoCafco strongly wishes to be able to propose the Brocap® trap for CBB control in regions producing Arabica coffee of high commercial value. ICCRI and CIRAD need to accompany the distribution of the trap, to ensure that it is used properly, and to help in improving its efficiency.
