Résumé : The 2007 fertilizer recommendations result from a compromise between the average quantities of fertilizers applied up to now (around 10 kg per palm per year) and GIRAD recommendations (3.2 kg per palm per year on average for the 3 sites) based on avoiding the risk of over-fertilization. P.T. BSP has ultimately decided to apply 6 to 7 kg of fertilizer per palm per year in 2007. Structuring of the 3 plantations in Leaf Sampling Units (LSU) has been done in compliance with recommendations. A few adjustments remain to be made and the final list can then be drawn up. It will be applicable from the 2007 LA onwards. Following cross-checking results that were not very accurate for the 2006 leaf samples, P.T. BSP decided to have all its leaf samples analysed by CIRAD starting from the 2007 campaign, given that the fertilizer savings made through leaf analysis largely justify an increase in the cost of analysis. CIRAD is to submit a financial proposal to P.T. BSP. A management procedure is given for field experiments, applicable at the 3 sites. Mr Kooseni Indrasuara is in charge of checking those experiments, and of liaison with CIRAD. He is therefore responsible for the smooth running of the experiments and transmission of results. At the Agrowiyana site, the first reference experiment AW CP 01 will begin in April 2007 (first fertilizer application under the protocol). It is a subdivided 33 factorial trial, studying nutrients N-P-K, subdivided trace elements. At the Kisaran site, the first reference experiment KP CP 01 will begin in May 2007 (first fertilizer application under the protocol). It is a subdivided 33 factorial trial studying nutrients P-K-Mg, subdivided N. At the Pasaman site, a soil analysis was carried out at the site of the future reference experiment at Air Balam. The physical and chemical properties of the soil are highly favourable, the experiment will begin in the second half of 2007.
