Résumé : The PMA symposium series was initiated in 2003 by LIAMA, the Sino-French Laboratory for Computer Sciences, Automation and Applied Mathematics. PMA09, the third conference in this series took place in Beijing, China, organized by CAU and CIRAD, with the supports of several Chinese and French Institutes (CAF, CAS, CASIA, CSIG, NSFC, K.C.Wong Education Foundation, INRA, INRIA, Agropolis Foundation, French Embassy in China). This Proceedings volume gathers the technical and scientific results presented at PMA09, both as oral communications and posters. Respectives regular and short papers cover various contributions in the areas of: - Functional and structural plant models applications in agronomy and forestry; - Modeling plant interaction with its environment; - Modeling the root system structure and its functioning - Plant growth model calibration and validation; Individual plant models applied to crops, stands, landscape; - Plant 3D reconstruction from image or laser acquisition; - Computer graphics advances for real time natural scene visualization
