Résumé : The objective of this fifth mission was to conduct a survey in the Cabo Delgado province, where two different phytoplasmas (responsible for CLYD and LDT) were reported in 2007. The prospection covered mainly the districts of Palma, Mocimboa da Praia and Mekufi in the South of Pemba. Coconut trees harbouring CLYD symptoms were observed in all the prospected districts and molecular diagnosis confirmed visual observations. The main conclusions resulting from this mission are: - CLYD is present from the north to the south of the Cabo Delgado province, - if LDT was not observed, its presence in Cabo Delgado cannot be exclude because of the low area covered during this survey. - CLYD in Cabo Delgado should not be neglected because of its spreading capacity to bordering islands and provinces, - DPA and SDAE staffs from the Cabo Delgo province have to be trained on CLYD and Oryctes, - smallholders would have to be made aware of CLYD, and its potential control by early eradication of diseased trees. The last mission could be dedicated to a survey of the Inhambane province.
