Résumé : The banana market is in many ways at a turning point. The spread of an invasive and incurable disease, uncertainty about the future of customs duties on entry into Europe, effects of Brexit, reduction of the lists of pesticides authorized by the European Union (European use and import residues), Chinese mirage, demand for social progress in the sector, etc. There are a lot of subjects shaping the future of this market. In the short term and as always, it is the large production potential that is of concern. After the small rebound in world prices in 2019, the market is still recovering.
