Résumé : L'information devient un capital de valeur croissante pour autant qu'elle soit traitée de manière optimale. La compréhension des définitions fondamentales concernant l'informatique de gestion et les progrès technologiques amènent les chercheurs à reconsidérer les aspects classiques du traitement de l'information scientifique et technique. Les caractéristiques informationnelles des herbiers représentent un cas remarquable pour la construction de bases de données sectorielles de dimensions humaines. L'exemple concret des récoltes botaniques réalisées par les agrostologues de l'I.E.M.V.T. est analysé en détails et les déterminants de la base de données constituée sont précisées, tant sur le plan botanique que sur les plans humain, matériel, informatique et de l'évolution prévisible.

Résumé (autre langue) : If information is treated in the most favourable way it becomes a capital the value of which is increasing. The understanding of the fondamental definitions with reference to management computer science and to technological progress will result in a change-over of the classical aspects of the scientific and technical treatment of information. The data provided by herbarium labels constitute a remarkable case for constituting the data bases of human dimensions. T he concrete case of the botanical collections made by the agrostologists of the I.E.M.V.T. is analysed in detail and the characteristics of the data base elaborated are minutely described on botanical as well as on human, material, computer science and predictally evolutional level.
