Résumé : Trade in pineapples is estimated at some 8 million tonnes (Mt). More than a third of this volume is fresh fruit, the rest is processed pineapple trade. For both sub-sectors, 2022 was the year of a return to some normality on the supply and demand side after the pandemic. As everywhere, operators are experiencing increases in production and logistics cots. Import prices on the fresh market have jumped, but sometimes without covering this additional cost. For processed products, prices have been maintained or even strengthened in 2022, but there is growing concern about 2023.
