Résumé : Cette mission nous a permis de participer au premier Symposium Franco-Thaï sur le caoutchouc naturel et de mettre en place une enquête, en vue de l'analyse de fonctionnement des unités de production à base d'hévéa, dans le Sud Thaïlande. Le succès du premier Symposium sur le Caoutchouc Naturel auprès des industriels, planteurs et universitaires thaïlandais est le reflet de l'intérêt que portent nos partenaires à la coopération avec la France, dans le domaine du caoutchouc naturel. L'accroissement du taux de transformation locale est une priorité, l'amélioration du mode d'exploitation des arbres en est une autre. Sur ce dernier point, les enjeux sont considérables, aussi bien au niveau microéconomique : amélioration des conditions de vie du planteur, que macroéconomique : augmentation de la longévité des arbres.

Résumé (autre langue) : This mission enabled us to participate in the first Franco-Thai Symposium on natural rubber and conduct an inquiry in Southern Thailand to analyse the running of rubber-based production units. The success of the first Symposium on natural rubber, which concerns Thai manufacturers, planters and university researchers, reflects the interest taken by our partners in cooperating with France in the field of natural rubber. Increasing local transformation is a priority, improving exploitation systems is another. The stakes are considerable with respect to this latter point, both at the microeconomic level (improvement of the planter's standard of living) and macroeconomic level (increasing the trees' economic lifetime).
