Résumé : At the request of Socfindo, a 16-day (29 June-15 July 1987) visit was undertaken to tour the Socfindo plantations in Indonesia. The tasks carried out during this tour were: discussion, with the plantation managers of the fomes control methods currently used by Socfindo; checking and improving techniques for detection and marking of infected trees and for data collection; checking and improving treatment and methods for eradicating infection sources; study of disease spread in the Socfindo plantations; proposal of more efficient ways to control root diseases that cause heavy damage in spite of the control measures taken since several years ; establishment of experiments to check the effectiveness of the treatments and various anti-fomes fungicides.
