Résumé : This serie of maps show that over decades, Southeast Asia increased its production and transformation capacities and demand for Cocoa and Coffee. On the particular case of roasted coffee, the maps allow to question if the global demographics are rebalancing the world agroindustry, or if they illustrate some de-industrialisation of Europe. This serie of maps gives also some insights for geopolitics, investment strategy, and research purposes. The growth of the Southeast Asia market for roasted coffee is quite recent but spectacular. In the last decade, it became the first Asian region for consumption, and the first tropical region both for production and consumption. The 3 first countries to consume and export roasted coffee do not grow coffee, and are also the main importers of green coffee: the United States, Germany, and Italy. The Southeast Asia dynamic for roasted coffee is a new pattern, being a region that is simultaneously a coffee grower and a big and leading market for the finished product in Asia and in the tropics, reaching the order of size of the western regions.
