Résumé : World banana production reached 100 million tonnes for the first time in 2003. On this occasion, FruiTrop provides an update of world banana production and trade figures. The originality of the document resides in the organisation of information by variety or group of varieties. This work by a CIRAD-FLHOR researcher is closer to reality as the data is set out in such a way as to be less of a simplification than a mere division between banana and plantain.
