Résumé (autre langue) : Reducing wood wastage in regions close to the forest areas of Cameroon and progressively reducing the wood energy deficit in other regions, while allowing a strong valorization of related wood products, is a major challenge for the national wood sector. Consequently, a feasibility study on the establishment of an integrated production unit of clean wood energy (torrefied wood pellets, charcoal, standard briquettes) in Cameroon was undertaken. The specific objectives of the study correspond to the following eight thematic components: (1) Analysis of the wood-energy market in urban areas and the northern region, in the country as a whole, and at the international level for the wood-energy products envisaged; (2) Study of the sources and supply modalities of the future wood-energy production unit; (3) Technological and organizational proposal for the dimensioning of the unit; (4) Definition of the organizational modalities and status of the unit to be set up; (5) Definition of optimized technical itineraries from the mobilization of inputs to the elaboration of wood-energy products; (6) Production and distribution; (7) Economic and financial analysis; (8) Analysis of the potential impacts of the project The study was organized in three successive phases covering these eight components: (1) Initiation of the study, desk research, literature review and preliminary data collection; (2) Field phase in Cameroon with data collection and analysis, and initial sizing of the Production Unit; (3) Conduct of the feasibility study.
