Autre titre : La construction de modèles paramétriques d'arbres à partir de lots de données digitalisés
Résumé : This report documents the development of a computer module that can construct a parametric model of a digitised tree. The majority of datasets are expected to come from fruit trees such as apple and kiwifruit that have been and will be digitised in the field. The computer module reconstructs the recorded tree by fitting by a collection of spline curves to the digitised points using uniform rational B-splines. Each parametric curve is made up of a series of cubic segments which are calculated from a linear combination of four digitised points and four weighting polynomials. The individual segments that make up a curve are matched together at their respective ends using a set of continuity constraints. The module also gives an on-screen image of the reconstructed tree using the OpenGL software. This graphics package can plot points, curves, and objects in a three-dimensional window. It also allows for a series of manipulations of the displayed image such as translations, rotations, zooms, etc. and allows for the use of colours, shading and lighting. The visual display of the reconstructed tree helps give added flexibility to the module output and can also give a useful whole-tree or part-tree perspective
