Résumé : The problem of digitizing plant structures is an increasingly important issue in plant growth analysis and modelling. Since plant descriptions are naturally carried out at several scales of detail, digitizing a plant structure raises two basic questions : at which scale(s) should digitizing be performed and how can measurements be simplified. As an answer, the paper proposes a general method for digitizing plant structures which is not dependent on the plant species. Two plants with different sizes and application goals have been used to illustrate the method.
