Résumé : Residual growth stresses in trees are the cause of various problems at early stages of wood transformation such as heart checking at log ends. Based on a theoretical approach of growth stress distribution, an experimental procedure allowing the global estimation of locked-in strains in a green disk, both instantaneous and temperature-induced, is proposed. Influence of wood heterogeneities and anisotropy level are studied based on finite element analysis. Tree stem elaboration by deposition of successive layers is simulated, as well as the various cutting and heating operations used in the procedure.
