Autre titre : Quelques aspects de la régénération naturelle
Résumé : Regeneration processes were addressed by studying saplings between 2 and 10 cm dbh. A systematic layout was set up in all the plots of STREK to sample this strata at a rate of 10%. This stand was characterised by the family Euphorbiaceae, which was more important in density than Dipterocarpaceae. Dipterocarp saplings (392/ha) were well distributed spatially. Logging killed an average of 25% of the saplings but significant differences were observed between treatments and within treatments for different logging intensities. The RIL techniques induced a net decrease in the number of injured and dead saplings. Two years after logging, the global stock had almost recovered (90% of the number of stems before logging) and the result indicate that this reconstitution was not only the result of the proliferation of pioneer species since the proportion of dipterocarps remained stable.
