Abstract : Au pays des catastrophes naturelles et du sous-développement économique chronique, le projet haïtien de production et d'exportation de banane bio est une vraie bonne nouvelle. Les premiers fruits devraient être expédiés vers l'Europe d'ici septembre 2015. Le projet initial est de 1 000 ha, mais une réserve foncière de plus du double est disponible. Ce projet pourrait, à moyen terme, augmenter sensiblement l'offre mondiale de banane bio, dont le leadership est détenu par le voisin dominicain. En outre, le projet a un atout essentiel : il est conçu pour être parfaitement intégré au tissu économique et social local... en un mot, inclusif ! (Résumé d'auteur)
Résumé (autre langue) : In a country of natural catastrophes and chronic economic under-development, the Haitian organic banana production and export project is a genuine piece of good news. The first fruits should be shipped to Europe by September 2015. The initial project involves 1 000 ha, though a land reserve of more than twice that is available. In the medium term this project could considerably increase the world organic banana supply, in which the neighbouring Dominican Republic leads the way. Furthermore, the project has an essential asset: it is designed to fit perfectly into the local economic and social fabric... in a word, its inclusiveness! (Résumé d'auteur)
