Résumé : In 2005, EU-25 thus consumed 235 000 tonnes less banana than in 2004. The three types of origin (community, ACP and dollar) all reduced their shipments. Among the large suppliers, practically only Ecuador and Colombia managed a satisfactory performance. Examining this 5% decrease in supplies together with the increase in the European import price of at least 30% in 2005 enables an accurate appraisal of the sensitivity of the European market to a variation in the volume released on the market.
