Résumé : The teleomorph name, #Mycosphaerella eumusae#, and its anamorph, #Pseudocercospora eumusae#, are validated for the banana disease formerly known as Septoria leaf spot. This disease has been found on different #Musa# cultivars from tropical countries such as southern India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mauritius and Nigeria. It is contrasted with two similar species, namely #Mycosphaerella fijiensis# (black leaf streak or black Sigatoka disease) and #Mycosphaerella musicola# (Sigatoka disease). Although the teleomorphs of these three species are morphologically similar, they are phylogenetically distinct and can also be distinguished based upon the morphology of their anamorphs.
