Résumé : The yield of rubber production, in Hevea brasiliensis is closely related to the resistance of the laticifer system to oxidative stress. This study concerns enzymes of the glutathione-ascobate cycle involved in the detoxication of active oxygen species and the resitance to oxidative stress. Ascorbate peroxidase, glutathione peroxidase and dehydroascorbate reductase activities were evidenced in latex. The purification and kinetic characteristics of the enzymes are described and compared with the latex physiological parameters. Our results suggest that APX plays a major role in H2O2 removal in the latex cells.
